Browns Trading Josh Gordon

Saturday huge news broke that the Cleveland Browns would release wide receiver Josh Gordon. It quickly has changed to he will most likely be traded.

Josh Gordon came into the Browns facilities late and appeared to be out of it as team sources said. By out of it the team meant they suspected him to be high or on some type of drug.  Josh Gordon has had a history of substance abuse in the league and keeps getting suspended so this was the final straw.

Gordon is an extremely talented player and the Browns know this and have decided instead of just cutting him, to trade him instead and get something for him.

A trade to get done is extremely likely considering league interest and the fact that what will be wanted for him will not be much more than a mid round pick or conditional pick.

Which is great value for a player who in 2013 logged over 1600 yards and 9 touchdowns on only 87 receptions in 2013. Very impressive stats that has kept him in the NFL five years late despite his troubles with drugs that keeps getting him suspended.stats

Gordon is dealing with a hamstring injury among all this chaos, so his status must be assessed before and trade is finalized. Monday or today is the day most media is saying everything will get done since the releasing players time is 4 p.m. ET but if there is a trade in works and details around his injury still aren’t clear it could be further in the week.
